Warrior One  - Virabhadrasana I

 

Start with legs about 4 feet apart. Hands on the hips. Feeling the weight on the heels and outer edges of your feet. Arches lifting. A strong grounding posture.

 

Stretch the arms wide, in line with your shoulders, look down to your left knee as you bend the left knee. Check that your knee is directly above the ankle.

 

Gaze over your left middle finger and swing your right arm towards the left. Interlace the thumbs and point the fingers. On an exhalation, lift the arms up to the ceiling, keeping the back leg firm and knee locked in. Look straight ahead and keep lifting the arms up. You can look up to the ceiling if the balance is ok.

    

 

Repeat the posture on the other side.
